Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 Departure for Rome

The great European adventure begins: we take off from Miami bound for magical Rome. Prefer to leave from another city? Ask us for the fare. We recommend getting to the airport at least 4 hours before your flight so the trip starts stress-free.

Day 2 Rome

Welcome to Rome! When you arrive in Italy's majestic capital, a representative meets you and takes you to the hotel. The rest of the day is yours to soak up the Eternal City: lit-up piazzas, cobblestone lanes and cozy cafés with an unforgettable romantic air.

Day 3 Rome and the Vatican

In the morning, a three-hour panoramic tour by bus and on foot reveals Imperial Rome: the Arch of Constantine, the outside of the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums, plus the Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, Santa Maria Maggiore, the Pyramid of Cestius and Castel Sant'Angelo. The tour ends around 11:00 a.m. in Vatican City, where your guide offers an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. At the end of the day we take you to the charming Trastevere neighborhood, known for its cozy restaurants and lively atmosphere, returning to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.

Day 4 Rome: free day

After breakfast, the day is free to keep exploring Rome at your own pace. If you like, join the optional excursion to the enchanting island of Capri.

Day 5 Rome – Florence

We travel to Florence, the charming capital of Tuscany, and our first stop is the famous Michelangelo viewpoint, with one of the most spectacular views of the city and unforgettable photos. Then a tour with a local guide reveals the cradle of the Renaissance, home of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli and Raphael. Highlights include the Gothic cathedral (the Duomo), the Ponte Vecchio with its goldsmiths' shops and Piazza della Signoria, the city's political heart, with its town hall in a medieval building.

Day 6 Florence – Venice

We leave Florence early and cross the Apennines into northern Italy. In Venice we take you by boat to the city center for a walking tour of the St. Mark's area, with its Basilica and Campanile, and we visit a Murano glass factory to see traditional glassmaking up close. We stay in the Mestre area.

Day 7 Venice – Ravenna – Assisi – Rome

Following the Venetian lagoon, we reach Ravenna, where you can see the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia and the Basilica of San Vitale. Then we cross the Apennines to Assisi to visit the Basilica of St. Francis with a Franciscan friar or a local guide. We arrive in Rome at the end of the day.

Day 8 Heading home

At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport for your flight home. We return with suitcases full of art, canals and memories of Italy.

Good to know

  • You'll need a passport valid for at least 6 to 9 months after your return date, with at least two blank pages; send us a copy when you book.
  • You'll stay at the planned hotels or others of the same category. Hotel ratings in Europe don't follow US standards: rooms tend to be smaller, and many hotels are in historic or older buildings in outlying areas.
  • A triple room is usually a double with an extra bed (rollaway or sofa bed), so we don't recommend it for three adults, and it's subject to availability.
  • Prices for children aged 0 to 15: ask us.
  • The order of visits, and even some cities, may change to keep the tour running smoothly.

Easy booking, pay at your pace
